Groot, a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, is a tree-like being of Flora colossus descent. This iteration, appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, follows Groot's continued adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

He is often seen alongside his close companion Rocket, and is known for his limited vocabulary, typically only saying "I am Groot," though his intonation conveys a wide range of meanings, understood by those close to him.

Groot plays a vital role in the Guardians' missions, using his ability to manipulate plant growth for both offense and defense. The character has undergone several transformations throughout his MCU appearances, growing from a sapling to a teenager and now to a more mature, muscular form.
